My hair is naturally really really curly. . . but ever since sixth grade I've always straightened it.
My hair is naturally really really curly. I have a mix of black and Asian hair, so I have really kinky coily hair, but ever since sixth grade I always straighten it.
I wish I liked it. People with straight hair are always like, 'I wish I had curly hair!' but um, do you? Haha. Everyone wants what they don't have, you know?
I have thought about getting permed, because I don’t ever have my curls out, ever ever, unless it’s like one day I don’t have time to straighten it. I wouldn’t say I feel super strongly that it’s a part of me or it’s a part of my culture, but the reason I haven’t permed it is because I think I’d feel a little bit sad if my curls weren’t there.
Even if only I know they’re there, if they were gone forever, I think that’d make me a little bit sad too.
